PUPPETEER

There’s the sound of a plane
Roaring to silence
When I open my eyes it will fade
In the distance.
There’s a taste on my tongue
From the hot air we breathed
I can still feel your skin
and the sun.
And its hard to recall how we came into a stall…
Well its all so easy
When our dream plays the puppeteer
But I fell out of space.
And in laws of gravity
You were pulling upon the strings
And my heart hung by a thread
Maybe I was to blame.
There’s an odd silver lining
At the end of the road
I will see you again in the house
On our hill.
In this book made of dreams
Full of empty pages…
All the wars we fought were missing
While I’m holding onto the same old pictures of you.
Well its all so easy
When our dream plays the puppeteer
But I fell out of space.
And in laws of gravity
You were pulling upon the strings
And my heart hung by a thread
Maybe I was to blame.
Yeah maybe I fell out of place.
If my heart had been lighter
But it turned to stone
When the forces of attraction got stronger
And you tried to control
What was meant to be free
Then my dreams played the puppeteer
Yeah.
But in laws of gravity
You were pulling upon the strings
And my heart hung by a thread
And maybe I was to blame.
